last one
this is my last blog for utsa. I have been writing these blogs once a week for the whole entire semester and it has been a long haul. So for my last blog i am going to discuss something me and a friend of mine talked about on our last camping trip. We talked about how only the rich can afford the luxury of bieng poor. This has been extremely prevelant in my life over the last couple of months. As college nears i have not been able to decide if i want to live a life of a nomadic style or pursue my own business. I am practically stranded on the fence line for this topic. I am very strongly passionate against living for societies standards. I believe that every individual should not fall victim to judgement except to their own. Everyone should set their own standards and pursue their own goals and not what is excpected of them from others. Living for others is not a lifestyle of happiness. So one of my goals is to test myself all of the time. Yet when i say test myself i do not actually mean with a academic test or even to see how large of a salary i can make. I wan't to live a life of a nomadic style. Hitching it day by day. Kayaking day by day. Hiking the Appalachian Trial, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail. Kayaking the great whitewater rivers of this country and abroad. Yet these things cost money. Also i have grown up in a comfortable lifestyle in which would be hard to leave. Another one of my dreams is to own my own outdoor center similiar to NOC. This is a proffesion that would make a decent sum of income. I feal as though i have potential to do great things. Not very modest yet i have a different outlook on life than most. So my dilema is which to pursue. Do i owe the world my effort by becoming an enviromental engineer. Or should i pursue a life of less money. If i do this will i regret not putting my life into a "greater good." I am lost as in what to do. This is a very bad explanation of my dilema. However through this i have come to the conclusion that in order to be happily poor you must be rich. The poor always want more. Yet the rich always do too. I want to live with less but have more.

2nd to last one for UTSA
This is my second to last blog for my freshman english compisition class and i must say it was much harder to keep a blog updated than i orginally concieved it would be.
For this blog i think i will comment on the book i have been reading lately and the debate i have been watching bits and pieces of on you tube. The book i have been reading is "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. The debate i have been watching is a debate over Athiesm vs. Christianity (just youtube that there is 15 ten minute sections).
I want to start off by saying that i am a christian with strong views that will not be changed even by the most radical of circumstances. I do believe in god so my view on the situation is biased as one my suspect. However i do think that christianity is the educated route.
First off the book, Richard Dawkins is no genius. Merely, a moron making claims that focus on extremities and non factual basis. He sets up his own scale for determining the level of how strongly you believe in something. None of his views are widely accepted. He is extremely hypocritical. If asked i can explain more but for the purposes of this blog at the moment it is unneccesry. I can give quotes though. He claims that as athiest do not believe in god or better wordered to do not believe in anything they have nothing to prove yet it must be proved to them that god exist. If this is the case then why argue that no god exists when your only arguement is that no proof for god is existant when such proof is existant. Richard Dawkins is no genius.
Next is the debate i have been watching. The same arguements for athiesm are taken generally speaking only with a couple direct literal translations of the bible used as an arguement. Much of the bible is metephorical and as i human and i christian i am sure that nobody understands it all. However, just because it is dificult to comprehend does not make it false and does not mean it should be taken literally. Not all good things come easy.
I have no problem with athiest. My problem is with uninformed athiest who are hyporcrits.

UTC
I visited the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga from Tuesday to Friday of last week. I was visiting for my freshman orientation (which is rather early) as because I will be attending the university next year. I have decided to major in environmental engineering and will minor in business management. I sincerely enjoyed many aspects of the campus. The location was perfect as far as the part of the country of which it lies. Chattanooga is surrounded in an outdoor Mecca. However, the city of Chattanooga while many would considered the city small from my perspective the city is a little on the large side, but nothing that I can’t deal with. The classes are good. I am truly excited about starting studying to become an engineer. My favorite part about the whole university is the outdoor club. I cannot wait to start school for the outdoor club as the primary reason. The outdoor club is a club that is extremely active in outdoor activities from whitewater kayaking (my favorite) to skydiving to backpacking to rock climbing to camping and others. While all I will want to do while at school is kayak the Ocoee River 24/7. However, I do also extremely love backpacking but it just not in the same league as kayaking. The campus itself is aesthetically pleasing as far as I am concerned. It is an outdoor campus with extremely old buildings and big trees with the backdrop scenery as the Appalachian Mountains. While attending the university I will be employed by the universities outdoor program teaching beginner kayaking classes teaching students to roll a kayak. I will also be employed as a slow pitch softball umpire for the campus’s intramural sports. I am unbelievably excited to start school in the fall. I am so excited that until school starts in the fall everything is going to be as exciting as watching paint dry. I do not know how I will remain entertained until I can get out of Texas and into Tennessee. My excitement may be overkill though. There is an extremely slight possibility that with all my excitement I may be disappointed it what life will actually be like. However, I severely doubt that I am wrong in my presumptions of extreme enjoyment. Outside of maintaining a 3.7 GPA I really want to be running class 5 rivers within a year and a half. I also have an extremely distant goal of participating in the Green River Race my junior year and possibly trying out of the Olympic kayaking team. We’ll see.

i'm gonna tell you anyway
I am going to be missing my freshman composition class this Thursday due to the fact that i will be in Chattanooga, TN for orientation for next year. Before my departure TB told me that the class will be discussing science and when it's necessary and when it's overkill. What a good topic to discuss. There are many ideas and views to this topic. It is very much a grey area where the perfect answer is different for everybody yet it affects everybody.
What I think is a simple yet effective answer but not solution to the problem is when we start asking ourselves if it is overkill then its overkill. The more I think about this answer the more I realize that its simplistic nature is complex in its roots.
My answer to such a controversial question is exactly what many would expect, controversial. I believe that technology has caused more corruption than it has good. It starts a repeating cycle that cannot be stopped without a massive die out of the earth’s population. With all this science and/or technology good causes have come such as medicinal advances and electricity however bad things have come such as computers, television, and the internet. These are things that we all love but have caused massive corruption. If outside the spectrum looking in at the United States viewing how technology has corrupted society there are many things to take notice too. One thing to take notice to is how the United States has the most cars per household out of anywhere in the world. Consequently, the United States has become so accustomed to driving and riding everywhere they go that walking or any form of exercise has become virtually extinct and know the United States is the most obese country in the planet. This is due to the domino effect of technology.
I do not want to let my strong opinion on the subject take control of me and began to let my opinions run wild while loosing track of any factual basis. Early I stated that technology has begun a vicious circle that as far as I am concerned is the beginning of the end. This circle starts at the beginning of the earth and lets just say for visual purposes that one revolution of the circle is one year in time. Well as technology has grown over time the earths population has grown this is obvious yet extremely important to note. Technology has grown in ways known and unknown to everyday citizens but most noticeably technology has grown in medicinal advances, computers, engineering, etc. The earth’s population has gained so much numerical value due to technology such as medicinal advances. The earth’s population has grown so big that in order to sustain the earth’s population we must keep advancing technology which in turn will push population growth which in turn will push technological advances and on and on it goes, round and round. Eventually as already predicted by the discovery channel and national geographic the world will get so advanced that everything will be run by the internet to whole new extreme. Technology will be so advanced that there will be an elevator to the moon, NASA mission to mars, cars that drive themselves, hologram pets that can communicate with humans. The world will become so extremely dependent on this technology that it would only take one internet crash for the whole world to go into trauma. At this point everybody will be so dependent on the internet that the one time the internet crash everybody will panic. This crash will be the beginning the of the end for the earth. The root of all evils.

Thanks Kansas
March madness and its madness finally came to an exciting finish. With the final game between memphis and kansas going into overtime for the championship it is hard to think of a more dramatic way to end the tournament. From the beginning march madness was the stage for many upset losses for higher seeded teams to lower seeded teams. This is not abnormal. My bracket did not suffer much from these upsets because a few of them i picked. Such as sienna defeating villinova. The beginning stages of the tournament and therefore my bracket were all well and good. Yet when west virginia beat duke my chances at a perfect final four prediction were sunk. How does west virginia beat a acc contender. I had seen paulus having a magnificent game to upset ucla and go to the final four. I was wrong because they never got their shot. However the three other teams i predicted correctly for the final four. Kansas, memphis, and university of north carolina were all in the final four with ucla who i had not predicted. The memphis vs. ucla game was not one of any inparticular suprise the freshman battle of ucla's love and memphis's rose was proved to be victorious for memphis as their star player rose lead the team to the ncaa march madness finals. Then comes good old kansas vs. unc. Before i began i must mention kansas is nothing but velcro that doesn't stick, hot glue dried on your hands, bird poop in your hair, tree sap on your nipples, they just suck. Anyways, i predicted on my bracket that these teams would meet in the final four and unc would prove victorious. Well damnit i was wrong. The player of the year hansbrough proved to be useless in this game. The best team in the league showed up as a highschool jv team ready to play a wnba team named kansas. Kansas won my bracket got screwed i dropped from first to third place in one game as i predicted unc to win it all. Then kansas pulled upset number two when they beat memphis in over time when memphis's star play rose proved to be useless. This was a great tournament until the final four when my bracket got screwed over and now i have to go hibernate for 11 months until next years tournament because i shall not be seen for all the shit talking with no walking.

island
An island is one of the lonliest placest on the earth. Surrounded, trapped on all sides by water. Nothing near but waves. Only company is that of other islands in an archipelago of which the island cannot touch nor communicate with. A breeze of solitude is in the air. Yet this solitude is not comforting. Nothing more then itself does the island have. The waves act as bars, chains, and disrespect. Stuck in a situation it never intended. Always planning on growing to be a tall prestigious mountain. It becomes seculuded. Hurricanes and tsunamis drown the island with fear and pain. It is unescapable, no other friends around. As though everything has fanished. Yet, it has always been alone. From the outside the island looks aesthetically pleasing, friendly, happy. However, this is far from the truth of the matter. The island is in lust of companionship. Companionship is out of reach beyond the fiersome blows of the sea. The deep thorn of a rose the island must feal deep within its heart. Knowing its own beauty and potential with such a road block. As though a prisinor in jail. As though someone who tried so hard but fell so short and is know locked behind bars. An island must have such mental hardships walking along the sandy shore. Yet their is something so prestige about the island in its misery. Maybe it is the way it manages to portray a place of joy and excitement. Maybe its the potential it has. Maybe it is the solitude. I have a fealing that places such as the himalayas feal predominant of islands. Because they have a higher elevation from sea level. These land locked mountains appear more respectable when in fact from base to summit they are sizeably smaller than islands. These appereances of being superior is only that after all an apperance of more accurately an illusion.
The island is strong and remarkable yet blood is dripping from it. It is hard to imagine a crazy place like an island caged up.

epiphany (or however it is spelled)
Upon my family trip to Pedernales Falss State Park I had a giant epiphany. I am already some what of a modern nature freak or as i say transcendentalist. Back on topic, I realized how not only beautiful nature is but also powerfall (both metaphorically and literally). Pedernales Falls is a great place to sip a taste of nature. With a the Perdanales River running through a boulder feild in a canyon beauty is not running low. Experiencing the power of nature is not running low either with 10 foot waterfalls. The falls crashing upon the boulders after pludging the ten foot drop is only the tip of the iceberg under the aspect of power. This river running through the boulder feild in this canyon happens to be in a flash flood zone. A flash food is power among all other powers. Brown muddy water pushing 15,000 cfs through a canyon strikes you just as that of a shotgun slug would, with lots of energy and momentum, powerfull. With society after such a lust for power i would presume that nature would consequently have a super glue effect upon society due to such an unfathomable amount of power. Society is also greatly thriving upon the image of beauty. Yet the closest many get to experiencing such beauty is the computer screensaver, which hardly qualifies as the same thing. The force driving people from, or suppressing people from experiencing nature is obviously the unnecessary comforts of modern society (technology). In the book "Into the Wild" i read "it is not always important to be strong but it always important to feal strong" to test yourself in ways out of your normal lifestyle. So more should test theirselves by trekking into nature to see what their is to see. Back to Pedernales and my epiphany. I have a longing to share nature with others for the sake of love and preservation. The more people that care the more likely for preservation. I believe the best way to achieve such a goal is obviously to get people caring or intrested. How? By sparking an interest in people of all ages. Again, how? By taking those who do not have a chance for everday experience by finding a love for nature within. For example, take your friends and loved ones to places like rock climbing walls if they like it take them rock climbing. Take them kayaking, hiking, or camping. Sign up kids for boyscouts to see how they like camping. Society obviously still maintains some love with nature. This is seen through obvious signs such as computer screen savers and parks in cities to name a few. Lets put passion for nature back into society. Maybe america will loose a couple pounds at worst.

Spring Break
Spring break is upon us, most importantly me. And as though my mind is near totally off of school, not abnormal at all, i must continue to write my blog, thanks TB. My plans for the break are to go fly fishing during the week while camping in New Braunfels. Where trout is stocked for twelve miles below the damn year round. Then when Friday roles around i plan to do some hiking at pedernales falls state park in Johnson City with my family. All around a relaxing spring break in the open air of the outdoors. This will probably be the last time i touch the computer for a few days and i will not miss it. Now i have reached 400 words i presume.
March Madness Predictions
Well the nations best athletic tournament is among us now. And that tournament is March Madness. The NCAA college basketball tournament going all the way from the preliminary round to the sweet sixteen to the final four which is taking place in San Antonio, Texas this year. Which I may have the fortune of attending if i am lucky enough (pray for my good fortune).
This year i think will be a very good tournament with teams like UNC, Duke, Memphis, Tennessee, Kansas, Texas, and other condenders. Yet the best part about the tournaments is not how well the higher seeded teams perform, but how the higher seeded teams are hopefully upset in remarkable games by the unexpected wins from the underdog. Hopefully this year the exception to this rule will be Tennesse who will have to best UNC to get to the Final Four. This will be a tough task as UNC is the number one seed with the mvp of the year, Hansborough who is white. A uncommon race for the mvp in the game of basketball. I am cheering for Tennessee in the tournament but predict that UNC will win with there consistent playing performance. However with a game of similiar caliber when Tennessee upset memphis anything could happen.
The reason March Madness is the best athletic tournament in the states even over proffesional tounaments is because of the hunger the players have and the true love of the game. Proffesional athletics play to many games a year to be hungry and more importantly have lost the love of the game due to the demolition ball of money. College athletics requires much time and energy that would not be spent if a high love for the game was not within the player. Also college basketball is very much more of a team game that of proffesional sports inparticurlaly the NBA. Also its just flat out more exciting with a much larger fan base especially with growing numbers of college graduates.
However, i did emphasize the point it is the best tournament within the states because there are international athletic tournaments that are better such as the world cup, olympics, green narrows river race, and others.

Again?
My neighbor, for the purposes of privacy we'll call her Woulda arrived home today for spring break from UTD. She had to return home because her parents are on vacation in Cabo San Lucas and her younger brother should never be left alone for more then ten minutes. She gets home gives me a ring and tells me to come over so we can go eat along with some of our other friends Shaniqua and Brewster. After fealing like gangsters from watching BET for an hour or so we decide to hit up Freebirds at Huebner for some grub and leave her brother home for an hour or two. Where might this story be going? We get to Freebirds and as I, the last person to order is half way into my artwork (my burrito making) Woulda gets a phone call and automatically says you better be kidding or i'll punch you in the face i pinky promise! As it turns out her younger brother 5 minutes after we left decided to meet his friends and do some good ol' fashion hick town four by fouren. We'll that call that came 15 minutes into the muddin trip was a frantic "come home i've broke my ankle." Well thats always what you want to hear when you parents are out of town and you have Woulda became Danica Patrick and the Ford Escape became a Formula 1 car. Driving 105 in a top heavy car with alot of body roll while chomping on a burrito that was beautifully crafted all to the magnificent harmony of "What the Fuck", "Why the hell...", and other rants along the same lines of anger. 20 minutes and the boy known for trouble at the worst of times prevails yet again.
Oh the normally 20 minute drive lasted 12 and then where at the place of incident to see a gaint baseball ankle. And he better be damn happy that is was really broken otherwise it would have been so much worse. So we carry him to the newly born Formula 1 car and head for Boerne Urgeant Care. 2 hours in the waiting room with animal planet, sonic drinks, and a game of egyptian ratscurr and we were back on the road home. Oh and the boy with the broken ankle got a perscription for vikaden. Well i'm pissed!!
Sounds like the start to a good spring break for woulda. And if your asking yes i would.

BOA
So i have been at boa for the past 4 days. Boa ( boerne outdoor academy) is a camp 6th graders go to learn about the outdoors first hand. The camp is sponsered by HEB and is in the middle of no where. Which is why TB this post has taken 9 days to post.
I was a student leader of 8 kids and all but three of them i enjoyed as much as a misquite thorn. They were a pain. That is an experience thats makes me lean towards zero kids. The camp was decent with the exception of that. Throughout the week the kids and i endured activities such as hiking, wading, fishing, canooeing, rocket building, volleyball, basketball, kickball, team building, obstacle courses, meals, nap attempts, and other stuff that was in the name of bogus education.
My two favorite parts of camp boa where limited to two specefic areas of camp. One was going on the hike for a mile through the water with D. Webb and the other was hanging out with one of my campers madre.
Lets start with the hike. The hike was 4 miles through the texas hill country and then 1 mile of wading through the frio river. The 4 miles was not all that bad but i do have decent bit of hiking under my belt just your standard trail. Something that won't cause the 6th graders or the moms any problems. Then when we reach the water some turn around others continue foward like spartans. And a spartan i am. With D we walked through the water which was cold enough for you to go numb in about 2 minutes for about a mile just relaxing, talking, and watching the kids all while enjoying the bluffs on both sides of the river.
Then there was the mom. She was probably the coolest mom you could have ever met. And she was an attractive mother if you've ever seen american pie you know where i'm going with this. Anyways camp was all around decent and the worst part was i missed utsa class. How unfortunate.

cigerette funeral
Why does the outside of a funeral home always have more ash in the ashtrays and smoke lingering in the air than a cigar club? The obvious and truthfull awnser is that a death makes you lungs pray for punishment. Not any kind of punishment only punishment from a cigarette, pipe, or maybe even a hookah, the lungs however do not want anything to do with cigar smoke because that is generally a celebatory smoke and a funeral is not a celebration by anymeans. With that in mind you must remember with such a fragile state of mind nothing calms the nerves like a lit stick of tobacco.
There is something about the smoke filling your mouth as you take a long deep drag of the cigarette that releaves the pressure of a lost loved one like nothing else can. There is something about smoke seaping from your open mouth slowly as you watch the smoke eratically dance higher and higher in the air that slows the tears. There is something about keeping you mind on how potentially cool you look smoking a cigarette puff by puff, drag by drag, toke by toke that keeps your mind from focusing on the death of someone you knew and loved.
Maybe the appeal of smoking at a funeral is the appeal of easing the social akwardness. When the crowd is standing around in silence with gravity taking its effect as tears drip down everyonce face then a smoke my ease the akwardness. Keeping you mind on whether or not you should say something or continue to look at the ground in grief and remorse. A smoke gives you something to do when there is nothing to do.
Its a curious statistic how many people start smoking at a funeral or around the time of a death as compared to starting the tobaco adiction under normal circumstances. It appears to me that stress causes more people to start or return to smoking than a just a lust for tobaco with no stress. Maybe that is a common sense stat, but maybe it isn't. I really don't no i am just trying to write 400 words for proffesor ass face (ass face equals two words).
Thank You

It appears to me that stress causes more people to start or return to smoking than a just a lust for tobaco with no stress. Maybe that is a common sense stat, but maybe it isn't. I really don't no i am just trying to write 400 words for proffesor ass face (ass face equals two words).
Thank You

Election Fatigue
As a new voter with exitement to vote bursting from within me i have been closely following the 08 election. Or now i shawl say was closely following the election of 08. With all the mud slinging going on between the democratic candidates i have become sick of the immaturity. I have always disliked the voting system of electoral colleges but i am a strong believer in the vote or don't complain policy. And complaining about the whitehouse and its staff has been a growing trend in this nation.
In my minds eye this election will become vote for the least of the evils. With no strong candidates as far as i am concerened i am truly worried what the future will bring. Barack and Hilary a close race that will not matter. The more important thing is if elected who will be the vice president for either candidate. Both are strongly hated and will require very high national security for survival. Obama is the first presidential candidate to have national security before elected due to the amount of death threats recieved. And Clinton, well lets just say it is Hilary Clinton the name speaks for itself.
Oh and the republicans with there now sturdy reputation (sarcasm intended). Well you have John McCain who is a shoein for the republican nomination. Congratulations McCain you will beat Mike Huckabee or whoever that is.Good luck in the main election seeing how as you are a conservative who supports the war you have a real fighting chance.
This election has become a joke and the only good outcome of this election will be (in my prediction) Hilary Clinton will get crushed. Great.
This is a third party candidates best year for a chance at the oval office. Posibly the most prized and hated job that this earth has ever seen.
Just for kicks i here by declare "God save the Queen."Atleast parlimant has a use.

Get off your knees ref your blowing the game
Another Boerne High School game brings yet more drama. This game the stage was not in Boerne but not far down I 10 north in Kerville. The stage could not have been more perfect for Boerne with an undefeated season so far this season and having already beaten Kerville by an easy 15 points in their first match.
Three minutes into the game Boerne's leading scorer senior all-state foward Robert Moore fouls out do to very biased officiating. With their pockets full of bribery money as i suspect the refs made no changes in their horrifying officiating. Every last one of Boerne's players that steped foot onto the court had not only Kerville to play but also the three referees. Not even the dream team could have won this game.
Let me give an example of one play that represents the officiating of the entire game. Kerville drives down the court. The point gaurd swings the ball left to number 22 outside the arc. He shoots. The ball bounces off the rim. Isaac Evans jumps for the rebound. He retrieves the ball. He lands. He's lifted by not one but two Kerville players. He is the not dropped but thrown at the ground. Fans yell in outrage parents and students alike. Robert Moore comes off the bench in anticipation of kicking some ass. Why blame him his teamate got body slamed. The whistle is blown not once but multiple times. Isaac has a fould called on him to my best guess falling to fast. Nobody knows what the fould was for. Struggling to get up he has no strength to argue such an absurd call. He looks at his dad as he is escorted from the arena for yelling at the refs as his son was abused. Rumor has it Mr. Evans simply yelled " Come on ref. Wake up and smell the roses." I very much doubt it but that is the rumor. However this is not the end of the scenario Robert Moore is then after fouling out minutes earlier ejected for stepping foot on the court in atempt to check on a fellow companion and teamate.
Never in my life after years of season tickets in many sporting arenas have i seen such a biased and terrible officiating. This I made very clear when in the middle of the game I threw my hat at a referee. Upon my hat striking him in the back of the head i threw many crude remarks at him. Which I knew he heard as due to the fact that he was 5 feet from me.
The Boerne Greyhounds ended up loosing by 27 and the number of shots took in the second half could be counted on 2 hands. Never do I blame the outcome of the games on the officiating. I am an umpire for youth baseball and softball i know the difficulty level of the job. However this was not any normal circumstances. Never does the number 7 ranked team in the state loose so easily and score a meager 23 points when their star player averages more than that alone. To referees everywhere i tell you they give your profession a bad name. Bribes are not worth it. People hate you and will beat you down.
This was not the only drama at the game. More was to come in the fights following the game in the parking lot. Fists and words were thrown. Boerne Prevailed.

Not to long ago the Discovery Chanel aired a series of shows called "Life in 2050" or something like that. However, I am positive that 2050 was somewhere in the title. The whole purpose of the show is to predict to a decent level of accuracy what life will be like 42 years from now in 2050. Throughout the whole show they have physists, futurists, chemists, and all types of proffesionals whose title end with "ists".
Before the more details of the series is revealed i shawl inform you that my view of the future and the technology it holds is slightly biased. I lean towards less technology purer life. Much of this is influenced by how handicapped I am when it comes to technology. Also, I strongly believes that technology weakens humans.
This show lets these scientists of all kinds tell us their predictions of the future and tell us how it is possible. They mention inventions such as cars that drive themselves, elevators to the moon, and hollowgraphic images as pets that project themselves into thin air and can interact with you.
Lets start with the cars that drives themselves. These cars will have the technology to interpret hundreds of images a seconds. The cars will interpret these images in a way that the car will know what move to make next. Whether it be turn right, left, brake, accelerate, or maybe even run from the police. These cars will be run off of hydrogen with great efficiency. These cars will also have the ability to switch to a manual drive so you have the ability drive as though it were 2008. This is not all of the ability of these cars. These cars also have an extremely advanced form of voice activated GPS system. You name the location and your there.
Should I even get started on the elevator to the moon. The say it is possible to have an elevator that runs from somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean to the moon. How is this possible a stationary elevator cannot lead to a unstationary moon. The idea of such technology is rather incredible. This is only and idea or a theory at most. Imagine the cable to guide the elevator.
This idea they have of hollowgraphic pets that can preject themselves into nothingness at the touch of a button or the command of a voice is hilarious at best. The make these visual pets interact verbally with you. How can something talk when in is made of air. Nothing to produce sound waves. Also these pets can surf from billboard to billboard across a city run on the internet and a complex series of logarithmic technology.
My favoriote part of the whole technology boom is the more and more reliant we become on technology the less reliant we become on ourselves. One crash of technology and we are set back potentially hunreds of years. If such a setback happens many will not be able to deal with such a situation because they are to dependent on technology and have grown weak

You have the right to remain silent
Bush delivered his final state of the union address tonight and thank god. You would believe that after 7 years in office thus far he would develop some public speaking skills. To think that you would be wrong, very wrong. My favorite part of this state of the union address was the politics beneath the politics. Why Bush droaned on about politics for an hour the entertainment was those paying attention to his words. No different from the speaches in previous years some clap, some sit silently, some stand, some sit, and I laugh.Goverment divided into two political parties just as George Washington had advised against.
My favoriote part of the whole ordeal was the camera men taking advantage of Hilary Clinton’s facial expresions. She is so beautifal when she has that hatefull burning look in her eyes. I just love her. I will vote Sen. Hillary Clinton ambasador of Antartica for life any day just show me the ballot.
Lets not forget Barack Obama either. He occasionaly appeared on the tube. Talking to Ted Kennedy who now has openely given his support to Obama for the election. Throughout the whole appereance Obama had the look of intense concentration. I would put pesos on the fact that he was not concentrating on the speech but more so on not to show emotional responses on the speech. Love him or hate him he is a smart politician.
Now to George Bush. I’m sorry did I studder. Da da da da studder some more. He only mentioned veto, veto, and more veto. His concentration for the night was less on what he planned to put to action until november and more on trying to get the next president to continue his policies when he leaves office. Lets be realistic your not even like in the GOP president. Tax cuts, no child left behind, personal health car, all war no foreign affairs sure sounds appealing to the next democrat eh?No.
Mr. President you have the right to remain silent. Exercise it.

I believe in free lunch
"No such thing as a free lunch", the philosophy of economics. The platform of the rule is that everything has some price whether it be currency or opportunity cost ( what was given up for something else). For example, you want to spend one hundred dollars on tickets to a concert but the opportunity cost is spending time with your friends and/or family.
I believe that the economist who founded this rule probably had no friends due to the amount of time he spent over anaylizing life and economics. What would provoke a person to dig so deep into life that go as far as to decide that nothing in the world is free. The air we breathe is free. That very well could be the end of the arguement.
While with the exeptions of few things is very much a true statement. The statement is also one embedded with negativity from start to finish. The idea that everything that is done is done at a cost portrays the idea that with everything you do you loose whether small or big. This rule digs for the negative effect in the decisions we make.
This rule tries to hard to make sense of something that does not need sense to be made of it. The rule is forcefull. It does not look at us individually but the universe as a whole. The fact that everything cost something is such a simple idea. However, when push comes to shove much of life is priceless.
By everything in the world costing something the best things in life are no longer free. Also, college is no longer a good investment. Because the by attenting college in a quest to gain a higher education you spend in the range of 75,000 dollars where as not college you would earn 80,000 dollars. When attending college has obviously proven to be the route with a higher rate of success.
The fundamental platform of economics despite its existence for some extended period of time reflects so perfectly society at its state today. This is where you become surprised. It does not reflect upon our society as greatly in economics or money as much as in other ways. The world today is so greatly reflected upon the rule because of the principle behind the rule not the literal version of the rule itself. Society is searching, over anaylizing, digging to find the meaning behind everything. Trying to hard to explain how and why everything happens. The rule is the same way searching for something that needent be found. Life was much better in the days of the indians and in the days of the stone age. The days when searching so deep was not even a step they saw in the future.
The rule of economics, another one of someones time wasted digging to deep when it is not necessary or effective. This rule should be no rule but merely a theory.

Offensive?
Upon attending a Boerne High School basketball game much of the focus was less on the game and more on the students being escorted from the game for the act of wearing suits and ties. As portrayed by the administration a tie is offensive and possibly racist. Due to the circumstance of playing the schools biggest rival, Alamo Hieghts High School, primarly known for their wealthy social standard, the act of wearing a suit and tie was unappropriate. Bull shit.
Primary to the game the administration of the school had made an anouncement that their would be no more dressing up in costumes during the basketball games ( a developing tradition for the seniors to raise student moral and school spirit). In rebellion 4 students decided to go to the other extreme of dressing up from costumes to suits. Disruptive, racist, offensive? I think not.
After multiple confrontations following ejection the administration had not retreated; however, they had called the local police to guard all entrances to the stadium to deny entrance to those refusing to change their attire.
Being one of the students wearing the attire of a suit I was outraged with such a ignorant policy. What the hell is wrong with a suit? People wear suits everyday of every ethniticity and of most financial statuses, especially those from a school who was dubbed 3rd snobiest in the country by Jay Leno. The suit was in no way offensive but a way to raise student passion without dressing in costumes which had been allowed at all the previous games.
In the debate with the school’s principal it is found that the administration did not make the rule of no costumes but enforced it upon the request of parents. The parents argument for the no costume policy was that of racial slures being thrown around from the students in halloween attire. As though the no costume policy would by some work of a higher power stop any racial comments. Ignorant? I think so.
However, the no suit rule was not one of the parents but of the administration souly in attempt to impress the parents at my best guess. The suits at worst added a profuse amount of sweat to the enviroment of the game. Needless to say everyone was still in school dress code by wearing formal clothing.
The act of such a policy reflects the close minded conservative envirement of the Boerne community. Such a rule is so far out of left field Babe Ruth himself cannot touch it. I am ashamed to be representing a community where a suit during a high school sporting event has become offensive and border line racial despite the fact that the coaches were all wearing suits and they represent the team more than the fans.
A policy of such ignorance is what drives almost as much as anything to move far away and start a life of my own where ignorance is not a daily encounter. Where suits are not required nor shunned.
